Yusuf Buhari, son of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election.

He is contesting for the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency seat in Katsina State. The APC gave him an automatic ticket through a consensus arrangement.

Yusuf formally declared his intention to run for the seat earlier in April 2026. He described the move as a way to contribute to governance and grassroots development.

The announcement has generated significant reactions across the political space, with many viewing it as a continuation of the Buhari political dynasty.
