Woman Charged After Shooting at Rihanna’s Los Angeles Home
A 35-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly firing shots toward the Los Angeles residence of global music star Rihanna.
Authorities say the suspect, Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, opened fire at the property on Sunday while parked across the street in a white Tesla. The home, which Rihanna shares with rapper A$AP Rocky and their three children, reportedly had bullet holes in its gate after the incident.
The Los Angeles Police Department said the weapon used was an AR-15-style rifle. Rihanna was believed to be inside the house when the shooting occurred.
Ortiz was arrested about 30 minutes later at a nearby shopping complex. Prosecutors have filed several charges against her, including attempted murder, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and shooting at an inhabited building.
A judge ordered that she be held on $1.875 million bail and barred from contacting the singer. She is expected to return to court on March 25.
Rihanna has not publicly commented on the incident.
