Without Music, Ayra Starr Says She'd Be Jobless and Living With Her Mum
Singer Ayra Starr says she would have been jobless and living with her mother had her music career not taken off.
The "Rush" hitmaker disclosed during a recent interview with EE72, where she opened up on her journey in the industry and how far she has come since her breakout.
Asked what she imagines her life would look like outside music, Ayra Starr ruled out content creation as a backup plan, calling it too demanding. She said she would rather be at home, living off her mother's cooking.
"If I weren't doing music, I would literally be unemployed. I don't even think I would be a content creator because that's a lot of work. I would just be chilling in my mum's house and eating my mum's food," she said.
The singer also spoke about the trade-offs of fame, admitting that she often overshares once a camera is rolling and sometimes wishes the public knew less about her.
"I really wish people knew less about me. Once the camera comes on, I can't stop talking, and I feel like I overshare," she added.
Ayra Starr has continued to grow her profile both locally and internationally since signing to Mavin Records, with her candour in interviews becoming as much a talking point as her music.
