Victor AD apologises to Tiwa Savage over unreleased 'wetin we gain' remix
Nigerian singer Victor AD has publicly apologised to Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage for failing to release their collaboration years after she recorded a verse for him.
The singer shared an open letter on social media taking full accountability for how the project was handled, admitting that he should have spoken up much earlier.
According to Victor AD, Tiwa Savage recorded a powerful verse for the remix of his breakout hit song "Wetin We Gain," but the track never saw the light of day.
He noted that while he could offer several reasons for why the music was never dropped, none of them outweigh the time, love, and creativity she poured into the studio session.
"I should have done this a long time ago, but it's never too late to take accountability for my actions," Victor AD wrote. "Thank you, Mama, for blessing my song 'Wetin We Gain' with a verse. Unfortunately, the remix never saw the light of day."
He also praised Tiwa Savage for opening doors for younger artists and making a massive impact on the Nigerian music industry.
The apology quickly caught attention online, and Tiwa Savage responded briefly to clear the air and show there are no hard feelings. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the award-winning singer accepted the apology with a warm and positive message.
"I appreciate this," Tiwa Savage wrote. "God knows the reason for everything. All love."
