Social media activist and influencer VeryDarkMan has reacted to the abduction of teachers and students in Oyo State, saying he may begin a public fundraising campaign if authorities fail to secure their release within four days.

In a post shared on Instagram, he expressed concern over the condition of the victims, stating that many Nigerians do not know whether those abducted are still alive, healthy or receiving food while in captivity.

He said the situation had become difficult for him to watch, especially because children have reportedly been separated from their families for about two weeks. According to him, the emotional weight of the incident pushed him to consider taking action if government efforts do not produce results soon.

VeryDarkMan stated that he was aware of the possible consequences of negotiating with kidnappers but claimed he was prepared to face any implications if it meant helping the victims return home safely.

He added that, should there be no breakthrough within the period he mentioned, he would consider opening a GoFundMe account to raise money and explore negotiations aimed at securing the release of those abducted.

His comments come amid growing public concern over the mass abduction in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, where gunmen reportedly attacked schools and nearby communities. Community leaders said 46 people, including seven teachers and 39 students, were taken during the attack. Reports also indicated that a two-year-old child was among those abducted.

The incident has triggered outrage across the country, with families, community members and concerned Nigerians continuing to call for urgent action to rescue the victims. Security agencies and local operatives have been involved in ongoing efforts to secure their release.
