VDM Accuses Mohbad’s Widow, Wunmi Aloba, of Forging NIN Document Over Late Singer’s Assets
Activist VeryDarkMan has accused Wunmi Aloba, widow of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, of allegedly forging a National Identification Number (NIN) document in connection with claims over her late husband’s assets.
In a video, the activist raised questions over an alleged discrepancy between the name on Wunmi’s international passport and the name reportedly associated with her NIN record.
According to VeryDarkMan, Wunmi renewed her international passport in 2024, with the document reportedly bearing the name “Adebanjo Cynthia Omowumi” and valid until 2034.
He, however, questioned why the NIN information he claimed to have initially obtained carried the name “Aloba Cynthia Omowumi.”
“The name on the international passport and the information on your international passport must tally with the information on your NIN,” he said, while questioning the alleged difference.
VeryDarkMan further claimed that the matter was taken to NIN authorities for verification, where he said the record showed the name “Cynthia Omowumi Adebanjo.”
Based on the alleged discrepancies, the activist accused Wunmi of secretly forging an NIN document to facilitate her claim to Mohbad’s wealth.
He described the alleged act as a serious crime but did not present, in the material shown, independent evidence establishing that Wunmi forged any NIN document.
The activist also connected the issue to broader unresolved questions surrounding Mohbad’s death. He questioned why the late singer’s brother, Adura Aloba, had allegedly not provided what he considered credible information about the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death.
The allegations have added another layer to the controversies surrounding Mohbad’s estate and family following his death in September 2023.
Importantly, the claims made by VeryDarkMan remain allegations. The screenshots provided do not show an official finding by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) or a court establishing that Wunmi Aloba forged an NIN document. Any report of the matter should therefore clearly distinguish the activist’s accusations from verified facts.
