Nigerian music executive and entrepreneur Ubi Franklin has shared what he believes is the quickest path to building billionaire status, saying success is driven more by solving problems than chasing money.

Speaking during a recent interview, Franklin said many people focus on making money without first identifying a problem worth solving. According to him, wealth naturally follows when people create value that improves lives.

"The fastest way to become a billionaire is to solve a billion-dollar problem," he said.

Franklin explained that entrepreneurs who build businesses around real-life challenges stand a better chance of creating lasting wealth than those motivated solely by profit. He added that successful businesses are often built on consistency, innovation and the ability to meet people's needs at scale.

Beyond discussing wealth creation, Franklin urged young entrepreneurs to focus on developing solutions rather than obsessing over financial success.

According to him, money is usually a by-product of value creation, noting that businesses capable of solving widespread problems are more likely to grow into billion-naira or even billion-dollar ventures.

Franklin has increasingly used his podcast and interviews to share lessons from his personal and business experiences. In recent weeks, he opened up about losing more than ₦1 billion in a failed business venture, using the experience to encourage entrepreneurs to know when to cut their losses. He also recently reflected on his personal life, describing having children with different women as one of his biggest regrets and urging young men to learn from his mistakes.
