Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has revealed veteran actress Sola Sobowale as the second cast member announced for her upcoming movie, Bestie.

Abraham made the announcement on Thursday, September 17, 2026, introducing Sobowale as Mama Ngozi in the movie. She had previously announced veteran actor Pete Edochie as the first cast member of the project.

Bestie is scheduled to premiere in Nigerian cinemas on December 16, 2026. Abraham is expected to announce more members of the cast as production details continue to emerge.

Sobowale is known for her roles in films including King of Boys, The Wedding Party, Battle on Buka Street, and Aníkúlápó. She won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2019 for her performance as Eniola Salami in King of Boys.
