Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has reacted to the recent kidnapping of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State, expressing concern over what she described as the low level of attention the incident has received online.

In a video shared on social media, the singer said she only became aware of the incident after seeing a post from fellow singer Spyro. According to her, she was shocked that such a serious situation was not dominating conversations across social media platforms.

Tiwa explained that after coming across the post, she reached out to people to better understand what happened because she had not seen much information about the attack on her timeline.

“The issue is not trending enough as it should,” she said in the viral clip.

Reports surrounding the incident claimed that armed men attacked a school in Ogbomoso area of Oyo State, abducting several students and teachers. The development has sparked fear and outrage among Nigerians, with many demanding urgent action from security agencies.

The singer’s comments, however, triggered mixed reactions online. While some Nigerians praised her for lending her voice to the matter, others criticised her for speaking about the incident days after reports first surfaced.
