Afrobeats singer Tiwa Savage has explained why she no longer speaks publicly about Nigeria’s security crisis.

She responded on Wednesday, June 4, 2026, after a fan asked her to use her platform to highlight rising insecurity in the country. The follower left the comment under one of her promotional posts on Instagram. The user said her influence could help drive awareness.

Savage replied that she had spoken on the issue before and faced heavy criticism. She said the backlash would not stop her from staying active. 

The singer added that her involvement is not always visible online. She stated that public posts do not capture all her actions. Savage said she does not feel the need to prove what she does.

She insisted that her efforts are known to God. Savage also prayed for wisdom to overcome the crisis. She asked that Nigerians be guided through what she called a tragedy.
