Tinubu Skips Lagos Project Inauguration Due to Security Briefings
President Bola Tinubu was absent from a scheduled project inauguration in Lagos. His Special Adviser on Public Communications and Orientation, Sunday Dare, explained the reason during an interview on Channels Television on Wednesday.
Dare confirmed that the President is currently in Lagos. He said Tinubu has been busy with critical state matters, especially security. “Yes, the president is in Lagos, and I’m sure beyond the pictures, you know that the president has been busy with state matters,” Dare stated.
He pointed to recent security developments across the country. Particular attention has been given to the attack in Jos over the last 10 days and subsequent developments. The President has been receiving constant security briefs and working closely with the intelligence community.
Dare emphasised that Tinubu must prioritise national security issues when they arise. The President has been monitoring events and taking necessary actions behind the scenes.
No details were given about the specific project being unveiled or who represented the President at the event. The explanation focused solely on the need to address pressing security concerns.
The statement comes amid ongoing security challenges in parts of Nigeria, including attacks in Plateau State. Many Nigerians continue to face the impact of insecurity and expect strong leadership from the President.
