Technical Faults Disrupt Air Peace Operations in Abuja
**Technical Faults Disrupt Air Peace Operations in Abuja**
A technical glitch in baggage screening equipment disrupted Air Peace flight operations at the domestic terminal of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Monday, April 6, 2026. The fault slowed baggage processing and loading, causing delays for many passengers.
Air Peace management issued a statement acknowledging the inconvenience. The airline said it had activated alternative screening procedures using available equipment to keep flights operating safely. However, these measures led to longer processing times and possible delays on some departures.
The statement read: “We sincerely regret to inform you of a temporary disruption affecting flight operations at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Domestic Terminal, specifically impacting baggage processing and loading.” It added that ground teams were fully mobilised to support passengers and provide updates.
Air Peace noted it was working closely with airport authorities to resolve the issue quickly and restore normal operations. Many passengers were left stranded at the terminal, with some expressing frustration over the extended waiting times.
The airline apologised for the inconvenience and appealed for passengers’ understanding and cooperation. Operations continued, though at a reduced pace, as efforts to fix the equipment proceeded.
This incident highlights ongoing challenges with airport infrastructure that occasionally affect domestic carriers in Nigeria.
