Tanzanian singer Juma Jux denies paternity allegation
Tanzanian singer Juma Jux has denied claims that he fathered a child with a Tanzanian woman, saying he has never been physically intimate or had a romantic relationship with her.
He addressed the allegation in a statement shared online after the claim resurfaced and began attracting attention on social media.
The singer said the allegation had been raised previously but he initially chose not to respond because he was convinced it was untrue. He said he later contacted the woman involved to understand why she had made the claim.
The woman, identified in reports as Musika, confirmed during their conversation that she had never been physically intimate with him or had a romantic relationship with him.
“Musika confirmed in her own words and voice that she had never been physically intimate with me, nor had a romantic relationship with me,” the singer affirmed.
Jux said he decided to speak out after the allegation resurfaced and began affecting his name, family and businesses.
He said the matter has now been handed over to legal authorities and that further action would be taken against the person involved.
The singer also urged the media and members of the public to verify claims before sharing them, particularly when they concern people's reputations and families.
The development comes days after the singer and his wife, Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo, celebrated the first birthday of their son, Rakeem, who was born in Canada in August 2025.
However, the woman at the centre of the paternity dispute has also responded to Jux's denial. In a public post addressed to Tanzania's Minister of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Dorothy Gwajima, she called for a DNA test to determine the child's paternity.
She said the DNA test would establish the truth and determine who was telling the truth in the dispute.
Jux has maintained that the paternity allegation is false and said he has chosen to pursue the matter through the appropriate legal channels.
