Nigerian singer Shoday has shared the unusual way he eventually got the attention of rapper Olamide, revealing that it all started with constant direct messages years ago.

He said that back in 2022, before he became widely known, he kept sending messages to Olamide on social media, hoping his music would eventually be noticed. At the time, he was still struggling to break into the mainstream, but he refused to stop reaching out.

According to him, the messages were not occasional, but were repeated over time because he strongly believed in his sound and felt Olamide was the kind of artiste who would understand it. He admitted that when he looks back now, the chats might seem funny, but that effort was part of what kept him going.

That persistence eventually paid off when the two connected and went on to work together on a new song titled “Come Kulosa,” produced by iam_soundz and released in April 2026. The track has since started gaining attention from listeners across streaming platforms.

Shoday described the experience as a major turning point, saying it felt like his efforts had finally come full circle after years of trying to get through.
