Nigerian Afrobeats star Shallipopi has recorded a new chart entry as his latest track, "Allergies," debuted at No. 60 on the Spotify Nigeria chart.

The song marks a new release from Crown Uzama, popularly known as Shallipopi, who rose to prominence in 2023 with hit songs including "Elon Musk" and "Laho”, Presido La Pluto and Shakespopi, all of which topped charts and helped establish him as one of Nigeria's notable music acts.

Following the chart debut of "Allergies," fans took to social media to share dance clips inspired by the song while urging others to stream the record.

However, not everyone was impressed by the opening position. Some critics argued that Shallipopi has struggled to maintain the momentum of his earlier releases since collaborating with Wizkid on "Like That."

The performance of "Allergies" has also drawn comparisons with "Laho," which debuted at No. 11 on the chart with 149,000 streams.

Despite the criticism, observers note that Shallipopi currently boasts more than four million monthly listeners, suggesting that the song could gain momentum in the coming days through radio support, playlisting, and TikTok engagement.
