BlownBoy Entertainment, the record label of Nigerian singer Ruger, has revealed why the artist has not released new music in recent months.

In a statement, the label said Ruger has been dealing with personal and legal challenges that have affected his activities and contributed to the delay in releasing new songs.

“Personal challenges after someone he dated decided to sue him for alleged emotional distress and damages…” the label said in the statement. While no further details about the case were provided, the label suggested that the issue has contributed to the delay in the singer's new releases.

According to BlownBoy Entertainment, the singer is currently facing the fallout from a lawsuit allegedly filed by a former partner, who is seeking damages over claims of emotional distress.

Addressing fans' concerns about Ruger's recent silence, the label stated that the ongoing dispute has affected the artist's career plans.

Ruger, whose real name is Michael Adebayo Olayinka, launched BlownBoy Entertainment following his exit from Jonzing World. He is known for hit songs such as Bounce, Asiwaju, and Girlfriend.

Neither Ruger nor his management team has publicly commented further on the alleged lawsuit or announced when fans can expect new music from the singer.
