Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has appealed to Afrobeats stars Davido, Burna Boy and Asake to collaborate on charitable efforts aimed at supporting vulnerable Nigerians.

Speaking during a public engagement, the First Lady encouraged the award-winning musicians to channel part of their influence and resources into a joint humanitarian initiative that would provide assistance to people facing economic hardship.

According to her, the country's growing social and economic challenges require greater participation from both the government and the private sector. She suggested that successful entertainers could make a meaningful impact by coming together under a single foundation dedicated to helping the less privileged.

Remi Tinubu acknowledged the artists' success and luxurious lifestyles but emphasised that philanthropy can coexist with personal achievements. She noted that increased support from wealthy individuals and public figures could help ease the pressure on government welfare efforts.

Her comments have sparked mixed reactions online. While some social media users praised the appeal as a call for collective responsibility, others argued that addressing poverty remains primarily the responsibility of government institutions.

Davido, Burna Boy and Asake are among Nigeria's biggest music exports and have each been involved in charitable activities at different times, although none has publicly responded to the First Lady's latest appeal.
