Rema Reveals He Became a Dollar Millionaire at Age 20
Nigerian Afrobeats star Rema has revealed that he became a dollar millionaire at the age of 20.
The singer, whose real name is Divine Ikubor, made the disclosure during a conversation with Youtuber Omer Majid. Speaking about his journey to success, Rema stressed that achieving financial milestones requires more than hard work alone.
According to him, he says:
“Me, I do believe in luck. Set yourself up in the right situation for you to be lucky. Luck is a huge thing, let no body cap about work hard and all of that. Work smart & Work hard but don't deny that luck & grace are actually a thing.”
Clarifying his statement, Rema noted that he was referring to dollars and not naira. He also recalled reaching his first million naira at the age of 17, a milestone that enabled him to buy a Lexus SUV for his mother.
Since breaking into the music industry, Rema has grown into one of Africa's biggest global music exports, earning international recognition through chart-topping releases and sold-out performances across multiple continents.
Now 26, the singer performed his song "Goals" during the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2026 alongside LISA and Anitta.
