Hausa praise singer Dauda Adamu Kahutu, known as Rarara, has criticised Afrobeats star Davido over events surrounding the 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown concert.

In a video circulating online, Rarara reacted to messages displayed during Davido's appearance at the event, including references to the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.

The singer said issues relating to insecurity should not be used for political purposes, arguing that such matters require caution because of their sensitive nature.

Rarara maintained that drawing attention to security challenges before an international audience could negatively affect Nigeria's image and give criminal elements the publicity they seek.

He also alleged that the move was politically motivated and aimed at supporting the political ambition of Davido's uncle while casting the current administration in a negative light.

According to him, politicians and public figures should not make insecurity a campaign issue.

"Anyone who campaigns with insecurity is insane because such a person does not fully understand the gravity of the issue," he said.

Rarara further urged Nigerians, especially influential personalities and content creators, to be careful when discussing security matters, noting that the public may not always have full information about ongoing efforts by security agencies.

He added that citizens are free to express concerns about national issues but should do so in a way that does not undermine the country's reputation or affect attempts to address security challenges.
