Peter Okoye officially changes his birthday from November 18 to November 30
Nigerian singer Peter Okoye has announced he is no longer celebrating his birthday on November 18, the date he shares with his twin brother Paul Okoye.
The former Psquare member made the declaration on Twitter. He stated that November 30 will now be his official birthday celebration date.
In a message to family, friends and fans, Peter wrote: “I’m making it official. November 18th is no longer my birthday celebration date. Please note that I will not be accepting any messages or gifts on that day. My birthday will now be celebrated on November 30th. This is a personal decision, and I truly appreciate your understanding.”
The announcement has sparked outrage online. Many netizens criticised the move and questioned the depth of the feud between the twins. Some asked, “Is that how much hate you have for your brother?” while others said they had never seen twins who dislike each other so much.
Peter and Paul have been estranged for years. Their long-running dispute, which involves their elder brother Jude Okoye, led to the final break-up of Psquare. Peter has repeatedly stated that the group is finished and that he is now his own “Square”.
The singer has maintained that the decision to change his birthday is personal. He asked the public to respect it.
