Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor has declared her support for Peter Obi ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election.

Ozokwor, popularly known as Mama G, spoke at a gathering organised under the banner “Celebrities for Peter Obi,” where she described Nigeria as a “spoiled child” because of the resources available to the country.

“I see this country as a spoiled child,” the actress said, noting that Nigeria has been blessed with abundant resources but has not fully benefited from them.

She also said, “There is nothing God did not provide for us,” while criticising the concentration of wealth among a small section of the population.

Addressing fellow entertainers at the gathering, Ozokwor urged celebrities to recognise the influence that comes with their public profiles.

“Celebrities here, what we have, we have our faces. We have our integrity,” she said.

Ozokwor has previously expressed support for Obi. In 2022, she was among Nollywood personalities who endorsed his 2023 presidential bid and was associated with the Celebrities for Peter Obi campaign group.

Obi, who contested the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party, is now seeking the presidency in 2027 as the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
