Pastor and relationship coach Kingsley Okonkwo has launched Mentor To Marry, a Christian matchmaking and marriage-preparation platform for singles seeking intentional, faith-based relationships.

Okonkwo, the lead pastor of David’s Christian Centre, announced the platform through a series of posts on X, describing it as a guided marriage-preparation and matching community for serious Christian singles seeking Kingdom-minded marriages.

The platform offers three annual membership plans: Regular at ₦70,000, Premium at ₦350,000, and VIP at ₦700,000.

The platform targets Christians aged 25 and older, and members must identify as Christians and meet its eligibility requirements.

It also states that membership does not guarantee a match, mutual interest, or marriage.

Okonkwo's launch has since generated reactions online, particularly over the cost of the membership plans. The ₦700,000 VIP package has drawn criticism from some Nigerians who questioned the price of accessing a matchmaking service.

The criticism has also been linked to comments previously made by Okonkwo about the commercialisation of modern relationships. In promoting Mentor To Marry, the pastor said relationships had become increasingly commercialised and argued that financial expectations had made it difficult for some young men to find genuine relationships.

Some Nigerians, however, have defended the platform, arguing that Okonkwo is offering professional matchmaking, mentoring, and relationship counselling services for people willing to pay for them.
