Opeyemi Famakin warns Nigerians against purchasing cheap Victoria's Secret Body Mists
Nigerian food critic Opeyemi Famakin has warned consumers to stop buying Victoria's Secret body mists in Nigeria, claiming the market is flooded with dangerous counterfeit products.
In a post shared on his Instagram story, Famakin raised concerns about the extreme price differences seen in local shops. He noted that while authentic bottles cost over ₦40,000, fake versions are widely sold for around ₦4,000.
He warned buyers that using these fake beauty products exposes them to harmful chemicals, describing the purchase of cheap counterfeits as "investing in cancer".
Famakin also cautioned consumers not to fall for claims from vendors who might raise their prices or claim their products are genuine following his post. He advised people to avoid buying these mists entirely unless they are purchasing from a few verified and trusted retailers.
The warning has sparked widespread reactions online, raising fresh concerns about fake cosmetics and consumer safety in Nigeria.
