The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) says all corps members are protected under a full insurance scheme that runs throughout their one-year service.

The Director-General of the NYSC, Olakunle Nafiu, made this known in Abuja, explaining that the package covers both life insurance and healthcare support, with additional backing from the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).

He noted that coverage begins immediately after mobilisation, even before corps members leave their homes for deployment, ensuring protection at every stage of service.

Nafiu added that the scheme also steps in during emergencies that may go beyond standard health coverage, especially in critical medical situations involving corps members.

He further assured that deployment is carefully managed based on national needs, while maintaining that the safety and welfare of corps members remain a top priority for the scheme.
