Nana Otedola, wife of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, has addressed long-standing public misconceptions about her nationality and ethnic background.

In a video circulating online with her daughter, Temi Otedola, she said she is not Ghanaian, despite frequent assumptions to the contrary. She confirmed her roots are in Abeokuta, Ogun State, and that she is an Egba woman.

"To clear the room for everybody, I'm an Egba woman, and that's the part I'll gladly claim as a Nigerian. I am not a Ghanaian; my roots are in Abeokuta," she said.

Nana Otedola explained that she was born in Kaduna State and lived there for nearly two decades, noting that her time in different parts of Nigeria may have contributed to the confusion around her identity, though her ethnic heritage remains Egba.

She also revealed that her full name is Nana Fatima, which her grandfather gave her during her "Sunnah." "I go by the name Nana Fatima, given to me on my 'Sunnah' by my grandfather," she added.

Over the years, social media users have incorrectly assumed she has Ghanaian roots.
