My Dream Collab Is Rihanna, Davido Says
Davido has named global icon Rihanna as his dream international collaborator, with one catch: he doesn't think it's happening anytime soon.
The Afrobeats superstar disclosed during a livestream interview on Twitch with host @Theboyfromojo.
"Rihanna is my dream collab, but she's not into music again. She makes billions from her makeup business now," he said.
Davido said a track with Rihanna would produce "dope music," but pointed to her focus on Fenty Beauty and her wider fashion empire as the reason he's not banking on it happening soon.
The admiration runs both ways. Rihanna has previously named Davido's "Unavailable," featuring Musa Keys, as one of her favourite songs, revealing she had it on repeat. Davido responded to the shoutout by calling her "my Ri Ri."
Davido's international collaborations already include features with Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby and DaBaby.
Rihanna, for her part, hasn't released a full studio album since "Anti" in 2016, having shifted her focus to building Fenty Beauty into a multi-billion-dollar business.
