The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has dismissed reports claiming that the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has been postponed. The board described the circulating notice as fake and malicious.

In an official statement issued on Saturday, JAMB warned candidates and the public to ignore the false information. “Our attention has been drawn to the malicious press release stating that the 2026 UTME has been postponed. The general public, particularly the candidates, are by this notice informed that the press release is fake and did not emanate from us. Kindly disregard it. All activities on the 2026 UTME continue as scheduled,” the statement read.

JAMB reaffirmed that the main 2026 UTME remains scheduled to hold from Thursday, April 16, to Saturday, April 25, 2026. All registration and preparation activities are proceeding normally.

The clarification came after some candidates experienced technical challenges during the UTME mock examination held on Saturday, March 28, 2026. The board used the opportunity to reassure candidates that the actual examination dates have not changed.

JAMB urged candidates to remain focused and continue their preparations without paying attention to unverified rumours. The board promised to maintain transparency and provide updates only through its official channels.
