Veteran Nollywood actor Emeka Ike says rising insecurity has taken away something he loves, which is travelling by road.

Speaking to security operatives recently, the actor said road trips used to be his “best form of travel,” but he no longer feels safe on Nigerian highways.

“I love road travel, but today I am denied of my best form of travel,” he said. “So many Nigerians love to have it on the road, but we are no more safe.”

Emeka Ike urged the government and security agencies to step up efforts to stop killings and bandit attacks across the country. He warned that insecurity is putting Nigeria’s future at risk.

“Let’s stop this killing. Let’s stop bandits from taking over our country,” he said. “If our country is taken, where will all of us work?”

He added that while his own children may not be directly affected right now, many families are already suffering the impact of violence and fear.

Road travel remains the most common way Nigerians move between cities and states. But reports of kidnappings, attacks, and highway robberies have made many people afraid to travel.

Emeka Ike’s comments echo a concern shared by citizens, business owners, and entertainers who say insecurity is hurting movement, trade, and daily life.

The actor is asking authorities to act before the situation gets worse.
