Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has condemned the online harassment of her 15-year-old brother after a video taken from her Snapchat was reposted across platforms and used to ridicule him. 

In a statement on X, Baci said she never anticipated that a lighthearted clip featuring her brother would be lifted from her private Snapchat and turned into material for mockery. She said some users went as far as editing photos of the teenager to make him appear bigger, purely for laughs. 

Baci expressed particular frustration that adults were behind the abuse, noting that her brother's only offence was appearing in a funny video with his sister. 

"If your idea of entertainment is tearing down a child, then that's a reflection of your character, not his," she wrote. 

She described her brother as kind and loved, and pushed back against the idea that cruel comments or doctored images could define him. She closed with a direct appeal to anyone still engaging with the content, reminding them that a real teenager was on the other end of their words. 

"I hope, before you type another insult or share another edited image, you remember that there is a real teenager on the other side of your screen reading what you write. Do better," she added.
