Ghana has launched a new online visa application system aimed at making travel into the country easier and faster for visitors.

Under the new arrangement, travellers from African countries will no longer pay visa processing fees when applying through the e-visa platform.

The digital system allows applicants to complete their visa requests online without needing to physically visit embassies or consulates. Approved visas will also be sent electronically after the necessary checks are completed.

Ghanaian authorities said the move is part of efforts to improve movement across Africa, strengthen business opportunities, and support tourism on the continent.

Officials also explained that the initiative aligns with broader African integration goals and is expected to encourage stronger economic and cultural ties between African nations.

Although the visa fee has been removed for Africans, travellers will still go through normal security and immigration screening before entry approval is granted.

The new e-visa service is expected to reduce travel delays and make Ghana more accessible to visitors, investors, and tourists across Africa.
