Fireboy DML has confirmed that his upcoming fifth studio album, ZUKO, takes its name directly from a nickname Twitter users gave him during online banter, rather than something he coined himself.

Speaking during a livestream filmed inside a car alongside content creator and streamer Ojo, the singer said he came around to the name after initially encountering it as fan chatter. "Yes, it's from the Twitter bants. They're the ones that first gave me the name. Some artists' banter names are not nice, but Zuko is very nice. I fuck with it," he said.

ZUKO will be Fireboy's fifth studio album and his first solo project since 2024's Adedamola. He officially confirmed the title on July 25 with a post on X reading "ok, let's get it. #ZUKO!"
