The Federal Government has provided 36,000 fully funded digital training licences for Nigerians through its Digital Training Academy (DTA) programme, giving participants free access to training on platforms including Coursera and Pluralsight.

The initiative, launched in partnership with the two global online learning platforms, is designed to equip Nigerians with in-demand digital and professional skills and improve their employability in the growing digital economy.

The programme is being implemented under the Federal Government's broader effort to bridge Nigeria's digital skills gap and prepare young people for opportunities in technology and other emerging industries.

Training available through the Digital Training Academy covers areas including artificial intelligence, software development, data science, cybersecurity, cloud computing, natural language processing (NLP) and quantum computing.

According to the DTA, successful participants will have access to structured learning and certificates upon completion of the programme.

The Federal Government has fully funded the 36,000 licences for the first year, meaning beneficiaries do not have to pay for the training access. The programme is being implemented in partnership with the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) to support wider access and industry-focused learning.

The Digital Training Academy says interested Nigerians can register through its official portal and complete an assessment before beginning their selected training.

The programme forms part of the government's wider push to expand digital skills development and improve the ability of Nigerians to compete in the global digital economy.

Interested applicants can visit the official Digital Training Academy portal to create an account, complete their profile and take the required pre-assessment before starting their training.
