FG Announces Public Holidays for Eid-el-Kabir Celebration
The Federal Government has declared Wednesday and Thursday as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The announcement was made through the Ministry of Interior ahead of the Muslim festival, which is widely celebrated across Nigeria and other parts of the world.
Government officials urged Muslims to use the period to reflect on the values linked to Eid-el-Kabir, including sacrifice, obedience, peace, and kindness to others.
Nigerians were also encouraged to pray for unity, stability, and national progress during the holiday period.
Eid-el-Kabir, also known as Eid-ul-Adha, is one of the most important celebrations in Islam and is observed by Muslims through prayers, gatherings, and acts of charity.
The two-day holiday means government offices, banks, and many businesses across the country are expected to remain closed during the celebration.
