Nigerian rapper and activist Falz has released OLE, the lead single from his forthcoming EP Break Time, scheduled for June 26.

Released on Thursday, the song addresses issues including insecurity, corruption, poverty, banditry, border security, and the suppression of protests.

The title, OLE, a Yoruba word meaning “thief,” is used as a reference to corrupt leaders, with Falz delivering criticism of governance and the country's security challenges through the track and its accompanying music video.

Fans praise its conscious rap fire, linking it to his past hits like "This Is Nigeria."

Reactions to the release have been mixed, with many commending the rapper for addressing national issues, while others argued that awareness through music alone is not enough and called for broader action.
