Nigerian disc jockey, music artist, and advocate, DJ Cuppy, has opened up about the difficulties she faces in finding genuine love, revealing how a past relationship left her questioning the intentions of some men who approach her.

Speaking during a recent discussion, the entertainer reflected on her dating experiences and explained that her family background has sometimes made her wonder whether potential partners are interested in her for the right reasons.

“I can never marry a Nigerian. It’s impossible. The last one I dated was asking me when he could meet my dad. I didn’t even think they liked me. My dad doesn’t even care who I marry; he just wants me to get married. That’s why I’m so happy for Temi and Eazi,” she stated.

According to Cuppy, one of her former partners appeared eager to meet her father, billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, before the relationship had fully developed.

The experience, she said, raised concerns about whether she was being valued for who she is rather than for her family name.

Sharing her thoughts, DJ Cuppy noted that the incident played a role in shaping her perspective on relationships and marriage.
