Dayo Amusa Weighs In on Sex Before Marriage
Nollywood actress and singer Dayo Amusa has sparked conversation online after stating that sexual compatibility should be a factor couples consider before getting married.
In a post on her X account, Amusa backed a viral opinion that people who do not prioritise sex may not be well-suited for marriage, adding her own take on cohabitation and intimacy.
She distinguished between couples with no prior sexual experience and those who have, arguing that the latter group carries specific desires and expectations into relationships that cannot be ignored.
"Two virgins getting married without any wild desires may cope, but for the tested ones, we all have our sexual desires, demands, and preferences," she wrote.
The actress also made the case for cohabitation before marriage, saying living together goes beyond sharing domestic responsibilities. According to her, sexual intimacy ranks among the most important aspects of a relationship and should not be overlooked when deciding to marry.
"The essence of cohabitation is beyond cooking and laying of bedsheets, sex is top 3, and it's not even number two or three," she added.
Amusa urged couples to be deliberate about exploring compatibility in that area before committing long-term.
"Get down with your partners well so you'll know what you're planning to live with for life. I recommend sexual compatibility before a decision is reached," she wrote.
