Nigerian Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is set to perform in London on Friday, August 14, a day before the Osun State governorship election.

Davido will headline the “Davido & Friends” concert at the Crystal Palace Bowl as part of the Palace Bowl Presents summer festival series. The event will also feature Omah Lay, Black Sherif, Gabzy, T x C, Jazzwrld & Thukuthela, Ecool, Morravey and Boi Chase.

The concert comes as Osun prepares for its August 15 governorship election, in which Davido’s uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, is seeking re-election.

Davido has been actively involved in his uncle’s campaign in the buildup to the poll. At a youth mobilisation event for Adeleke last week, the singer urged residents to reject violence and intimidation during the election.

He also recently appealed to U.S. President Donald Trump to intervene over the violence surrounding the election.

The London performance will take place on the eve of the poll, with the singer expected to headline the Crystal Palace Bowl show before the Osun electorate goes to the polls on Saturday.
