Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that Wizkid and Wande Coal advised him when he was considering leaving school to pursue music.

Davido disclosed that he consulted the two artistes about how they managed to leave school and focus on their music careers. Their advice came at a time when he was trying to decide whether to continue his education or fully commit to music.

His decision became clearer after the success of his 2011 hit single, “Dami Duro,” which marked a major turning point in his early career.

Davido had initially left his studies in the United States to pursue music before returning to Nigeria and enrolling at Babcock University at his father’s insistence. He eventually graduated from the university in 2015 with a degree in Music.
