Afrobeats superstar Davido has disclosed that he was forced to remove a song from one of his albums after his longtime aide, Israel DMW, allegedly disrupted its planned release by sharing it online against his instructions.

Speaking about the incident, the award-winning singer said he had specifically warned Israel not to post the unreleased track. However, just two days later, Israel uploaded a video of himself wearing only a towel while the song played in the background, exposing the record before its official rollout.

According to Davido, the unexpected post affected the promotional strategy for the song, leading him to scrap it from the album entirely.

"I removed a song from my album because Israel spoilt the rollout. I told him not to post it again, but two days later, he posted a video in a towel with the song," Davido said.

Music rollouts are a key part of album marketing, with artists often carefully planning teaser campaigns, release dates and promotional content to maximise anticipation and streaming performance. An early leak or unauthorized preview can disrupt those plans.

Davido and Israel DMW have maintained a close working relationship for years, with Israel frequently making headlines for his outspoken personality and unwavering support for the singer. The latest revelation has sparked mixed reactions online, with fans debating whether the decision to remove the song was justified.

Although Davido did not reveal the title of the unreleased track or the album it was intended for, the story has generated fresh conversations about the importance of confidentiality and timing in the music industry.
