Veteran entertainer and activist Charles Oputa, known as Charly Boy, has taken to Instagram to call on men to make their health a priority and stop avoiding preventive care.

In the post, he pointed to the life expectancy gap between men and women, noting that men live roughly ten years less on average and are far less likely to seek medical attention before problems arise.

"Men's health is crucial because men, on average, live about ten years less than women and are significantly less likely to seek preventive care," he wrote. "Prioritising proactive care is essential to mitigate major threats, reduce life-threatening disparities, and improve overall well-being."

Beyond physical health, Charly Boy also addressed the emotional weight many men carry silently, urging them to open up and lean on others.

"Men are going through a lot. Let's share, because you're not alone," he added.
