Burna Boy has pulled ahead of Tems to become the African artist with the most entries on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100.

The Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, born Damini Ogulu, earned his ninth career chart entry this week through "Dai Dai," his collaboration with Colombian superstar Shakira on the official 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem.

The song debuted at number 75 on the Hot 100, breaking the tie Burna Boy previously shared with Tems at eight entries each.

"Dai Dai" gained fresh momentum after both artists performed it live at the World Cup Opening Ceremony on June 11 at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, before a crowd of over 80,000.

Burna Boy also holds the record as the first African artist to place at least one song on the Billboard Hot 100 for six consecutive years, a streak running from 2021 to 2026.

His nine entries span: Loved By You (2021), Last Last (2022), Sittin' On Top Of The World and Talibans II (2023), Just Like Me and We Pray (2024), WGFT (2025), and Only You and Dai Dai (2026).

Released on May 15, 2026, "Dai Dai" blends Afrobeats, dance-pop, and reggaetón, with the title drawn from an Italian phrase meaning "come on." The track was co-written by Shakira, Burna Boy, Ed Sheeran, Jon Bellion, Benny Adam, and Alexander Castillo.
