Brymo Challenges ‘Big 3’ Narrative, Backs Rema
Nigerian singer Brymo has argued that younger artists should be at the forefront of the country's pop music scene, insisting that the industry's attention should no longer revolve around established stars.
Speaking during a recent interview with TVC, the singer criticised what he described as the continued dominance of the "Big 3" conversation in Nigerian music, referring to Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.
He specifically cited Rema as an artist who should be leading discussions around Nigeria's pop culture and commercial music space.
“We need to stop talking about how the new artists don’t have lyrical substance and focus on how some artists want to lock down the industry for themselves with the ‘Big 3’ narrative and continue reigning forever,” he said.
Brymo maintained that a new generation of performers should be allowed to take centre stage, arguing that the industry must evolve.
