A large-scale Afrobeats performance in Lagos has earned global recognition after Guinness World Records confirmed it as the largest orchestra ever assembled for an Afrobeats concert.

The record was achieved during Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience, held on December 16, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Centre. In total, 85 musicians performed together, creating a coordinated orchestral interpretation of Afrobeats music.
The show brought together several Nigerian artistes, including Saheed Osupa, Rybeena, KS1 Malaika and T.I Blaze, alongside dozens of instrumentalists performing under a conductor.

According to details released by Guinness World Records, the attempt involved a full orchestral arrangement featuring a lead vocalist, choir, dancers and synchronised musicians performing an Afrobeats composition.

The production was organised by Dapper Music and its artistes, a project linked to music executive Damilola Akinwunmi.

Beyond setting a record, the concert showcased a creative blend of Afrobeats and Fuji with orchestral music, highlighting the evolving sound and global appeal of Nigeria’s contemporary music scene.
