Nigerian rapper 6UFF has stirred conversations on social media after declaring that “₦1 million is the new ₦100,000.”

The rapper remarked in a post shared online on Friday, a statement that quickly drew reactions from Nigerians who weighed in on the country's rising cost of living and the declining purchasing power of the naira.

While some social media users agreed with the rapper's observation, arguing that inflation has significantly reduced the value of money in recent years, others maintained that ₦1 million remains a substantial amount for many Nigerians and should not be casually compared to ₦100,000.

For many Nigerians, the statement reflected a growing concern that earnings and savings no longer stretch as far as they once did.

Others, however, argued that the comparison was exaggerated, stressing that ₦1 million still represents a significant sum in a country where many workers earn far less on a monthly basis.

Although opinions remained divided, the rapper's comment resonated with many Nigerians who viewed it as a reflection of the economic pressures currently affecting households across the country.
