Popular actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has explained why she now prefers worshipping from home instead of attending church physically.

Speaking in a video shared over the weekend, Akindele said public attention has made it hard for her to worship in peace. According to her, whenever she appears in church, the focus often moves away from the service and turns to her.

She said cameras are usually directed at her, with people taking photographs instead of allowing her blend in with other worshippers. Because of that, she has chosen to follow church services online.

The actress made the remark while getting her children ready for church and preparing breakfast at home. She said virtual participation now gives her the calm environment she needs for worship.

Akindele, who worships at the Celestial Church of Christ, added that the repeated attention from both media teams and members of the congregation has continued to interrupt her spiritual focus.
