The Federal Government has set aside Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, as public holidays for Easter.

Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, shared the update while sending Easter wishes to Christians in Nigeria and abroad.

Beyond the break, the government is asking Nigerians to actually reflect the meaning of the season, which is showing kindness, being more patient with one another, and choosing peace in how we relate.

There was also a reminder about staying united as a country, despite differences, and keeping faith in efforts to improve the economy and overall living conditions.

Easter is one of the most important periods in the Christian calendar, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and is usually observed with church activities and quiet time with family.
