The lead pastor of Zoe Household Global, Dolapo Lawal, has advised Nigerians to think twice before relocating abroad, warning that many decisions are driven by pressure and unrealistic expectations.

He spoke during a church message on Sunday, where he criticised the growing rush to leave the country. According to him, some people are influenced by what they see online and end up chasing lifestyles that may not reflect reality.

Lawal explained that this mindset has pushed individuals into drastic choices, including selling their belongings at home just to start over abroad. He noted that many later struggle with jobs that do not match what they imagined.

He also pointed out that life overseas is often misrepresented, as people tend to share only the good moments. In his view, this creates false hope for others who may not fully understand the challenges involved.

The pastor added that some Nigerians who relocate find it difficult to return, even when things go wrong, because they feel ashamed. He urged people to make decisions based on careful thinking rather than comparison or pressure.
