Several Nollywood actors and filmmakers have postponed movie releases and premieres following the death of a respected colleague in the industry.

Actress Chioma Chukwuka announced that the premiere of her movie A Thousand Little Pieces would no longer hold as scheduled. According to her, the decision was made out of respect and solidarity during the emotional period. She later confirmed that the movie will now premiere on May 22, 2026, on her YouTube channel.

Filmmaker and actress Omoni Oboli also revealed that there would be no movie release on Omoni Oboli TV in honour of her late friend. In an emotional message to fans, she thanked supporters for their love and admitted she was dealing with many emotions.

Actress Uche Nancy equally informed fans that a planned movie upload had been suspended due to what she described as a difficult moment for the industry. She promised that a new release date would be announced later.

The announcements have triggered emotional reactions online, with many fans sympathising with members of the movie industry and sending prayers to the grieving families and colleagues affected by the loss.
