Shallipopi’s “Laho” has surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify, becoming the rapper’s first song to reach the mark.

The milestone was reported by music tracking platform The Debut Hub, which listed “Laho” among Nigerian songs to cross 100 million streams on the platform.

Released on March 13, 2025, “Laho” became one of Shallipopi’s biggest songs, reaching the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs chart and later receiving two features: “Laho II” featuring Burna Boy and “Laho III” featuring Puerto Rican singer Rauw Alejandro.

The song was originally released in February 2025 before being removed from streaming platforms amid a dispute and re-released on March 13 through Shallipopi’s Plutomania Records and Since ’93.

Born Crown Uzama, Shallipopi came into the music industry posting freestyles before breaking into mainstream with ‘Elon Musk' in 2023. The song became a viral hit and was followed by his debut EP, ‘Planet Pluto’, and his first album, Presido La Pluto, which reached No. 1 on Nigeria’s TurnTable chart.

He followed with ‘Shakespopi’ in 2024, which also topped the TurnTable album chart, while songs such as ‘Ex Convict’ and his later collaborations helped establish his music.
