Nigerian content creator Samuel Asubiojo, popularly known as SamSpedy or Mama Ojo, is expecting his first child with his wife, Simi Richard.

SamSpedy shared the news on Instagram on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, posting a video of his pregnant wife dressed in a red outfit as she cradled her baby bump, with the caption:

“To be favoured by God is to be given a blessing greater than anything we could have ever dreamed of."

He added, “Our hearts are fuller, and our love is deeper, as our story begins a beautiful new chapter.”

The announcement has since attracted congratulatory messages from fans, friends and fellow content creators, with many celebrating the couple as they prepare to become parents.

The pregnancy announcement comes just months after SamSpedy and Simi Richard took their relationship to the next level.

SamSpedy announced his engagement to Simi in January 2026 after proposing to her. At the time, the content creator shared the proposal on social media, describing her acceptance as a memorable start to the year.

The couple subsequently got married in April 2026, marking the beginning of their life together as husband and wife. 

Now, barely four months after their wedding, the couple is preparing to welcome their first child.

SamSpedy, whose real name is Samuel Oluwafemi Asubiojo, is widely recognised for his comedy skits and his popular Mama Ojo character. His content often centres on African family life and everyday experiences, helping him build a large following online.
